Success in the STCTC Ag Program is built upon the nationally recognized three-part model of agricultural education:
1. Classroom/Lab Instruction: Rigorous, science-based technical knowledge.
2. FFA (Future Farmers of America): Students develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through competitive events (CDEs/LDEs), conferences, and community engagement.
3. Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE): Hands-on, work-based learning projects managed by the student outside of class, like entrepreneurship, placement on a farm, or agricultural research.
🎓 Career and College Opportunities
Completers of the STCTC Agricultural Education program are highly sought after by employers and ready for higher education:
● Veterinary & Animal Careers: Preparation for roles as Veterinary Assistants, Animal Care Technicians, and Animal Breeders.1 The Vet Science pathway provides a competitive edge for college pre-veterinary programs.
● Mechanics & Operations: Entry-level careers as Equipment Service Technicians, Welders, and Farm/Heavy Equipment Operators.
● Horticulture & Agribusiness: Jobs in Landscape Design, Greenhouse Management, Ag Sales, and Agribusiness Operations.
