Guidance

I am Connie Shannon, Guidance Career Counselor along with Work-Based Learning Coordinator here at Strom Thurmond Career & Technology Center. As the Guidance and Career Counselor, I am here as part of a team, dedicated to the success of every student taking classes at the career and technology center. Our team consists of parents, career & technology center staff, administration, myself, community resources, and most importantly, our students. I work to help students overcome barriers to their progress in their STCTC classes; engage in career exploration and development; learn appropriate soft skills for the workplace and daily activities; and assist with personal/emotional growth by providing prevention and intervention services.

As the Work-Based Learning Coordinator, I provide students with the opportunity to get extended learning opportunities and to see their prospective careers in action.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with students this year.
