STCTC Students for Third Nine Weeks

STCTC Selects Outstanding Students for Third Nine Weeks

Ten Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center students were recognized for academic achievement and outstanding performance. “The teachers in each of our programs select these students based on their performances in the classroom, but as importantly they look at the kids’ attitudes and character,” explained Connie Shannon, Career Guidance Counselor. STCTC offers a wide range of Career Clusters that provide students the opportunity to explore future occupations as well as obtain business and industry certifications. These certifications help ensure employment and higher wages.

“My Civil Engineering class is teaching me building concepts along with computer and evaluation skills,” said Savannah Godwin, PLTW student. STCTC’s programs provide students the opportunities to apply the information they learn in the classrooms. From repairing cars in Automotive Technology to making movies in Digital Media Marketing, students gain experience that prepares them to be contributing members of society and to enjoy working for a lifetime. “Every assignment we start is more challenging and requires more creativity than the last one,” offered Alexander Perry, Digital Media student.
