Hite Takes Lead of STCTC

Mack Hite is beginning his stint as Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center’s (STCTC) director beginning July 1, 2020. “I’m so excited about the opportunity to work with STCTC’s staff. They are a group of talented and focused professionals,” said Hite.

During the past four years Hite has served Edgefield County School as STCTC and STHS’s Instructional Coach, Baseball coach, and part-time Athletic Director; a position he shared with two other coaches. “Having served as Instructional Coach, I have had the pleasure of working with STCTC’s staff. We already have a great working relationship and I have a pretty good understanding of the needs of the various programs we offer our students,” continued Hite.

Hite hails from Abbeville where he attended Abbeville High School. He graduated from Presbyterian College where he played baseball and majored in History and Education. Hite taught for three years in Greenwood District 50 and two years at STHS.

“My goal is to continue to build on the excellent academic experiences that the Strom Thurmond Career and Technology provides our students through hands on learning. I believe that with the support of our community, we can continue to produce students that are career and college ready when they leave our campus,” continued Hite.

Hite is married to Courtney and has two children, Macy Joy and Mack Jr. “I am passionate about many things, but first and foremost would be my faith and my family. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and baseball,” said Hite.
